OMEGA PLAYER OF THE YEAR POINTS
The Aloha Section PGA | OMEGA Player of the Year Points identifies the most competitive professional of the Aloha Section PGA during the tournament season of January 1 – December 31.
The criteria for earning this honor is based on points awarded to the top professional who competes in Official Events of the Aloha Section PGA. The standings are calculated using the Points Distribution approved by the Section’s Tournament Committee. Bonus points may be earned from certain events. These events include the Nike 4-Ball, Hilo Invitational and Maui Open, as well as the major championships of the Section, the MID-PACIFIC OPEN and HAWAII STATE OPEN.
Points are only awarded for the top 10 finishers in stroke-play and team events. Players/Teams that finish outside of the top 10, will be awarded a minimum of ten (10) points for participating. At the end of the season, the top four finishers will earn exemptions into the Monday Qualifier for the SONY OPEN IN HAWAII. Players who earn an exemption must be in good standing and approved by the Aloha Section PGA.
