CYR TAKES ONE-STROKE LEAD
HEADING INTO FINAL ROUND OF MID-PACIFIC OPEN
LANIKAI, HAWAII – APRIL 21, 2018 – Morning showers sprinkled the fairways and greens during Round 3 of the 2018 Mid-Pacific OPEN. Past-champion Samuel Cyr carded an impressive three-under par (69) giving him a one-stroke lead heading into the final round. Round 2 leader, Brent Grant, posted fifteen pars today shooting a one-over par (73). Defending champion, Jared Sawada, carded the low-round score today of a five-under par (67). He currently sits at (-3) for the tournament, tied for 6th place.
After posting a two-under par (70), Tyler Ota is currently leading the Championship Division with a tournament total of (72+71+70= 213). Ota is now six strokes in front of Punahou senior Remington Hirano.
Howard Miao still sits at the top of the leaderboard for A-Flight at (+17), just two strokes ahead Skyler Uehara (+19). Christopher Han is leading B-Flight at (245).
Tomorrow’s tee times will begin at 6:50 AM off the 1st and 10th tee. Spectators are welcome to follow the players and experience the beauty of Mid-Pacific Country Club. Following the final round tomorrow, all players are invited to attend the awards banquet in the main ballroom of the Clubhouse.
