The 14th Annual Kā‘anapali Classic Pro Pro kicks off the summer tournament season for the Aloha Section PGA on the beautiful Kā‘anapali Royal Golf Course. The two-person team event brings together some of Hawaii’s top golf professionals in a two-day 36-hole best-ball competition. The event is also held in conjunction with the Aloha Section PGA Summer Membership Meeting (aka Summer BBQ “Meat-ing”).
Clear and calm blue skies presented a hot and humid day to the field of professionals as they took to their assigned tees for the shotgun start. Eric Dugas, PGA and Elliot Gouveia, PGA (-10) posted ten birdies today to take a two-stroke lead ahead of defending champions TJ Kua and Todd Rego (-8). Kua and Rego marked eight birdies on their card. The rest of the field is close behind and there is still plenty of golf to be played.
Round 2 of this event will continue tomorrow with a shotgun start at 7:30AM on the Royal Course. For Round 1 Results and Round 2 Pairings, CLICK HERE. Get social with us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat. @alohasectionpga #LetAlohaHappen
