INAUGURAL TOKYU GROUP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ALOHA SECTION PGA FOUNDATION
In proud partnership with Tokyu Group, the Aloha Section PGA Foundation is currently accepting applications for the inaugural Tokyu Group scholarship program. The program will recognize Hawaii’s top golf athletes that have excelled both athletically and academically throughout their junior golf careers.
The Tokyu Group Scholarship is designed to award one-year educational scholarships. Applicants must be current high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited college or university in the 2018-2019 academic year. Special awards may be granted based on the availability of funds and discretion of the Aloha Section PGA Foundation Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship Requirements and Guidelines
Scholarship recipients will be selected on the following cometitive basis by using a combination of criteria including:
- Academic Performance (including high school grades, class rank, ACT and/or SAT scores)
- Financial Need
- Golf/ Extracurricular Activities
- Personal Reference Form
** Special consideration will be given to high school seniors planning to enroll in a PGA PGM university**
The Tokyu Group Scholarship also requires applicants to meet the following criteria:
- Be a current resident of Hawaii and have significant involvement in the game of golf
- Demonstrate significant financial need
- Must have completed or plan to complete high school by August 1, 2018
- Attend or plan to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the pursuit of an undergraduate degree by the Fall of 2018. The institution must be located in the United States.
Applications must be received by the Aloha Section PGA Office no later than 5:00PM on Friday, April 20, 2018.
** Applicants who do not accurately complete the application or return the application on time will not be considered.**
Successful applicants will be mailed an announcement by the middle of May. All applicants will be presented an announced at the Aloha Section PGA Classic on Monday May 21, 2018.
In 2003, The Aloha Section PGA Foundation, (a non-profit 501(c)(3) philanthropic arm of the Aloha Section PGA) was created with the mission to develop and promote interest in the game of golf while enhancing the lives of those that participate. Today the Aloha Section PGA Foundation has gifted over $100,000 in continuing education scholarships for juniors, continues to educate businesses and industry leaders of the “state of the game” with the biennial Hawaii Golf Industry Conference, provide countless FREE growth of the game initiatives with our allied associations and strives to place a golf club in the hands of every new juniors aspiring to be future players.
