The Aloha Section PGA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is pleased to announce the 2017 HAWAII GOLF INDUSTRY CONFERENCE will be held on Thursday, September 7th, at The Kahala Hotel & Resort.
The event will feature a number of prominent industry speakers, who will speak about national and global trends that are currently impacting the game of golf. From the world’s largest working sports organization of 28,000 members, Jim Richerson, Secretary of the PGA of America and Vice President of Business Development for Troon will talk about “The Heart of the Game” and the impact of the PGA worldwide.
With the nearest major city 2,500 miles away, Hawaii’s hotel and tourism business plays a significant role for the golf industry. We are fortunate to be joined by a panel of distinguished experts, including George Szigeti (President/CEO of Hawaii Tourism Authority), Corbett Kalama (President of Friends of Hawaii Charities) and Sanjiv Hulugalle (General Manager of Four Season Resort Oahu at Ko Olina) to discuss their views of “Big Golf for Small Islands”.
Closing our conference we are honored to have PGA Tour legend Ben Crenshaw share his life journey “From Tee -2- Green Jackets”. Ben’s masterful life in golf has lead him down a path to an award winning career as a professional golfer and golf course architect.
The event will begin at 8AM and will including multiple opportunities to network with industry leaders, stakeholders and supporters of the game. Amongst the discussion we hope to identify major issues and challenges facing the golf industry as we focus our outlook on 2020.
