MCLACHLIN LEADS MID-PACIFIC OPEN BY 5 SHOTS
LANIKAI, HAWAII – APRIL 15, 2016 – After 36-holes, Parker McLachlin leads the field by five shots posting (71-65 = 136) to close out Round 2. Cory Oride, who ended Round 1 for a share of the lead yesterday, now sits five shots back and tied with Dean Wilson at (141) after Round 2. Honorable mention for Round 2 goes to Alex Ching who fired an 8-under (64) today positioning himself in striking distance over the weekend. Ching finished with a two day total of (142) and is tied for 4th place with past champion Nick Mason.
In Championship flight, Moanalua High School senior, Shawn Lu, shot 2-under par to finish at (143) holding on to a two shot lead over Andrew Chin from Punahou School.
Mid-Pacific Country Club member, James Nam, leads in A-flight at (162). Anthony Becker is leading B-Flight at (162), just two strokes ahead of William Enomoto.
In our Senior Division competition, Kevin Hayashi, PGA and Dave Eichelberger, PGA are tied for Senior Professional Division at (148). The Committee will use their Round 3 score as the playoff in determining a winner. Brandan Kop is the winner of the Senior Amateur Division with a two day total of (72-79=151).
Tomorrow’s tee times will begin at 6:50 AM off the 1st and 10th tee. Spectators are welcome to follow the players and experience the beauty of Mid-Pacific Country Club.
