The Aloha Section PGA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is pleased to announce that its annual fundraising event, the Aloha Section PGA Classic Scramble, will be held on Monday, May 19, at the Mid-Pacific Country Club.
Every year, we reach out to people such as you who share in our mission to develop and promote interest in the game of golf while enhancing the lives of those that participate. As the Foundation’s major fundraising event, monies raised from the Classic Scramble are used to fund scholarships and financial aid programs, support community outreach and instructional projects, junior golf activities, and help children of active duty military families—all to support the continued growth of the game in Hawaii.
Participants in the Classic Scramble can look forward to a great event that is both fun and challenging. The tournament format is a four-person team (three amateurs/one pro). If you would like to invite your own PGA professional to play with your group, we can accommodate your request. Otherwise, the tournament committee will assign a pro for you. The event will again be held at the beautiful Mid-Pacific Country Club the day after the Jennie K. Wilson Invitational tournament—one of the major women’s events in Hawaii—which means that the course should be in pristine tournament condition.
We are also excited to announce National Car Rental as this year’s Title Sponsor. As the Official Rental Car of the PGA of America, National will sponsor 82 events across 41 PGA Sections, in its 2014 ProAm Series. Three lucky participants from this year’s Classic Scramble will be entered in a drawing to spend the day with Keegan Bradley, the winner of the 2011 PGA Championship, and his father, PGA Professional Mark Bradley, who serve as the ambassadors for the Series. In order to be eligible for this once in a lifetime playing opportunity, we encourage all amateurs to enroll in the National’s Emerald Club. As a member, they’ll get you on the road faster in the car you choose so you won’t miss your tee time.
Enclosed you will find a tournament flyer and sponsorship registration form that describe the various sponsorship options. We are also grateful for donations of cash or prizes if you are unable to play. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to seeing you on May 19. Together, we can ensure that the game of golf remains a positive force in our community.
